We are successively creating sustainable standards in all business areas. This is ensured by our internal sustainability ambassadors. The selection of an environmentally friendly site for our new corporate headquarters in Vienna has created a significant contribution to our eco-balance. We also aim to minimize the impact of our hotels on the environment. To this end, we are implementing numerous initiatives: Starting with waste reduction, to the installation of e-car charging stations for guests at several Austria Trend Hotels. We focus on environmentally conscious purchasing, economical energy and water consumption, and consistent waste separation. Our commitment is having an impact: Nine of our hotels, as well as one of the Viennese campsites and the two hostels in the VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY division, have already been awarded the Austrian Eco-Label for tourism businesses for their environmentally friendly operations. Austropa Interconvention, as an Austrian conference provider, also bears the Green Meetings and Green Events eco-label.
Environmentally and socially responsible tourism away from the masses, authentic encounters with the host country – all this will become increasingly important in the coming years, especially after the Corona pandemic: VERKEHRSBUERO is looking for ways off the trodden paths. We therefore offer hiking, trekking and expeditions not only to classic destinations, but also to Russia, La Réunion, Mauritius, Africa and Nepal. These trips are carried out in small groups with their own personal escort. To ensure that the local population also benefits from the guests’ expenses, accommodation is in small, privately run hotels and mountain huts.
